If you are looking to sell your home, you’re in luck!
According to house seller advice site The Advisory, spring is the best time to put your house on the market as this is when generally the most amount of buyers are looking to buy and sell.
Though selling your house and moving can be a colossal faff, I, The Guru am here to unlock the door to enlightenment and explain why right now really is the best time to start the ball rolling and find the home of your dreams.
Properties look their best in Spring
Houses tend to sell quickly when they’re looking at their best, and the weather in spring will help your home look the best that it can. You’ll notice your grass turning greener and your plants and flowers blossoming, which will give buyers a great first impression!
The Academic Year Ahead
It’s a good idea to move house towards the end of the academic year, to avoid added stress to children and teenagers who have a lot on at school. It’s also worth checking out the catchment area for your children’s school, and bear this in mind when moving ahead of when the term starts again in September.
Out with the festivities
By spring, most people will have gotten over the winter festivities and eaten their way through the leftover treats in the cupboards and fridge, so they will be less distracted and more motivated to make the move. Moving house in spring will also be a great excuse to get rid of the dated festive décor, ready for the winter ahead in the new home.
What about summer?
It’s a no from us… Families are usually busy arranging summer holidays and activities to keep the kids entertained throughout the long break. Putting your house on the market and hunting for new digs is probably not ideal. Childcare will also take up time and effort, so moving house is the last thing you need!

Whilst putting your house on the market is a huge commitment and may be something you’re desperate to do, don’t rush to sell up and move just because it’s spring. Even starting the ball rolling is great, with the rest being a bonus if you do manage to complete the process by summer.
